So, after a busy Christmas and New Year in London, January is supposed to be a quiet month, isn't it? Not so at Excel English, where we have already welcomed a Teachers' course and are in the middle of an exciting British Culture Experience! This is the first time this new course has taken place and the students taking part are really loving it.
As well as interesting lessons where they learn about different facets of Britain such as famous Britons, the monarchy, multiculturalism or the Olympics, the students also have visits to relevant sights, such as Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cambridge.
And last week, after learning about different parts of Britain, the students had a session of Scottish dancing with one of our very talented teachers. You don't find that at every English school! Maybe they can put their dancing into practice on Burns Night next week (25th January). That is the evening where every Scot in the world tucks in to a traditional meal of Haggis with "Neeps and Tatties" (Parsnip and Potatoes to the rest of us!) and remembers the genius of Robert Burns. If you are not familiar with him, you can find out about him here.
Meanwhile, here's a video of those dancing students. As they found out, Scottish Dancing is just as fun as it looks, although it is difficult to get it right!
